Tim Takes on the Capital for St Vincent’s & St George’s Association
On Sunday 24th April, Tim Hurst completed the Virgin Money London Marathon in aid of St Vincent’s & St George’s Association.
When asked about his run, Tim said “The crowds at the London Marathon are amazing and it is a great way to see the sights of the city.”
“After 24 miles I did find it more difficult, mostly as my training was around 20 miles. It was at that point, when requiring motivation, the thought of running for the charity and the wonderful people I had met spurred me on!”
Tim decided to take on the marathon in support of the charity after he was inspired by a work colleague who regularly volunteers with St Vincent’s & St George’s Association. His employer, Investec Wealth & Investment’s Cheltenham office, has also chosen them as their local charity to support for 2016.
Through his fantastic efforts, Tim completed the marathon in circa 4 hours 30 minutes raising over £1300 for the charity. The money will go towards helping St Vincent’s & St George’s Association continue their work, providing support, care and independent living opportunities across the region to those who need it most.
